BONES: The Parts in the Sum of the Whole

NOTE: Cut for spoilers for the rest of the current season drawn from various articles on sites dedicated to all the TV show gossip.

I had to write some stuff down after watching the 100th episode again tonight.

The Daily Grind

This Tuesday I started a temp data entry job. Not the greatest pay and a 35 mile ride one way, but a job is a job and the commute is nowhere near as bad as my part time job I had before I went on my Japan trip in November. It's a temp job because I got a job in Japan and I'll be starting in May, possibly moving to Japan in April.

I'm not going to give details about where I'm working, but I will say it is in no way a boring office. Japanese and English are used almost 50/50. There was drama of the entertaining sort my first day. My fellow temps are wonderful and normal human beings. My supervisor is fantastic on multiple levels. There's a cute guy who is tall, wears glasses and more often than not, wears suspenders (braces, for my non-American readers).

The work itself, was unfortunately a bit mind-numbing today, but that's why they've given the work to the temps, right? I totally prefer filing over data entry and my supervisor as well as some managers in the office have praised my mad filing skillz. It's nice to be appreciated.

As of now, I'll be at this job until the end of February. If I keep this up, they may want to keep me on until I leave the country, which will be cool, if I can survive the monotony of the data entry.

"Dramatization"

Another commentary on a commercial I just saw on TV. This time for a dishwasher detergent that cleans dried-on food. They depicted this process by showing little construction men using jackhammers and bulldozers and such. And in the lower right hand side was the word "Dramatization".

I paused and wondered if there really could be people who would see this commercial and actually think little a miniature detergent construction crew would be working on their dishes. A few minutes later, I realized the "Dramatization" probably referred to the cleanness of the dishes and not construction spirits living in the dishwasher.

But then again, this is America. You never know.
